Это главная гитара Криса, на которой потрясающе звучит слайд. С этой гитарой Крис Риа уже давно не расстается, ее можно видеть на многих клипах гитариста. Самый замечательный факт – в свое время она очень долго пролежала в бочонке с водой. Нет, она оказалась там не специально – она находилась в гараже родителей Криса, а крыша протекла... и вот результат... гитара звучит просто фантастически, не смотря на свой ужасно потрепанный вид! Внимание – не пытайтесь повторить то же самое со своей гитарой, в расчете заиграть потом на ней как Крис Риа, вряд ли гитарное мастерство от этого зависит, а по отношению к гитаре это крайне жестокий эксперимент. Однозначно будут проблемы с членами «общества защиты гитар»

Крис Риа рассказывает о своей гитаре Pinkie (1992 год)
— Robbie McIntosh, interviewed a while ago said his slide playing was infuenced by Joe Walsh, also by you. He favours a standard E tuning for slide work. What about yourself.
— Well that's a surprise. His rhythm/lead style is something I would dearly love to do well. We often talked about Robbie for the gigs, but he's always booked up. E tuning is what I inadvertently came to use all those years ago. I sometimes now have problems when I get carrried away of mixing up which guitar I am playing - normal tuning or slide. I made an effort this year to find ways of playing certain groups of notes on Pinkie (slide), but it's difficult in as much as the very nature of the different and abnormal positions make some "standard licks" that would be normally felt without a second thought, impossible, When your G is flat (good title for a song?)
— Do you have any guitars especially set up for slide ... can you offer any tips for beginners.
— Just Pinkie in E. TIPS? Get happy with a guitar sound that does not pick up R.F.
— What can you tell me about Dave Wilkinson and his glass bottlenecks?
— I have a bottleneck which I am happy with and cannot find any the same guage, weight and diameter. It's critical for good pitch. So Dave makes them up for me.
— Which guitars have you used mostly on recent albums and tours?
— Only 2 strats E and open, and on the one track on the new album I used a fender semi-accoustic for its percussive sound.
— What is your current line-up of amps and effects for live work?
— Ibanez tube screamer and compressor (separate). TWAH pedal, These go into an old Boss chorus then 2 outs to a tremolux combo and a twin. We are currently trying to get used to some Semour Duncan pick ups which are really similar to the strats. This is an attemp to rid R.F. noise which can result in suicidal tendencies during a tour.

Это сравнительно новая гитара для Криса Риа, но он теперь редко выпускает ее из рук. Раньше я почти не видел, чтобы он играл на гитарах типа Gibson Les Paul. Да потом и выбор цвета какой-то странный мне показался сперва. Но, услышав ее на концерте, я очень оценил ее. Классный звук. Скорее всего и цвет то правильный – Blue Guitars все таки.
